Technical Sales & Business Development Representative – North America Remote | US/Canada

About Deep Excavation LLC

Deep Excavation LLC is a leading geotechnical engineering software company serving 2,000+ engineers globally, with products including DeepEX, DeepFND, SnailPlus, and PileCapacity.AI. We are a technically driven, bootstrapped company with a 20+ year track record and a strong reputation in deep excavation, earth retaining structures, and deep foundation design.

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned geotechnical software sales professional to lead our North American market presence. This is a field-facing, high-visibility role combining technical conference representation, direct software sales, and strategic business development. The ideal candidate brings established industry relationships, a deep understanding of the geotechnical software competitive landscape, and a proven methodology for converting technical engagement into revenue.

Core Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Own and manage the full North American sales cycle — from lead qualification through close

  • Execute structured outreach to geotechnical firms, government agencies, academia, and ENR-ranked contractors

  • Maintain an active, well-qualified pipeline with consistent velocity and conversion discipline

  • Drive upsell and expansion opportunities within the existing North American customer base

Conference & Community Presence

  • Represent Deep Excavation at ASCE, DFI, Geo-Institute, CGS, and other key North American events

  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and live software demonstrations to engineering audiences

  • Build and maintain visibility within professional societies and working committees

  • Identify sponsorship, speaking, and co-branding opportunities that amplify market presence

Business Development

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with engineering firms, universities, and industry organizations

  • Provide structured competitive intelligence on Plaxis, Rocscience, and emerging players

  • Collaborate with product and leadership teams on North American go-to-market positioning

Performance Metrics & KPIs

  • Annual revenue target: defined at offer stage based on territory baseline

  • Qualified pipeline value maintained at minimum 3x quarterly revenue target

  • Conference and event appearances: minimum 4–6 major events per year

  • New logo acquisition: minimum targets defined quarterly

  • Sales cycle length and conversion rate tracked monthly via CRM

  • Customer retention and expansion revenue within existing accounts

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in geotechnical or engineering software sales, business development, or application engineering with direct sales responsibility

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the North American geotechnical software market — familiarity with competing platforms is a strong advantage

  • Active presence within ASCE, DFI, Geo-Institute, or CGS communities

  • Proven ability to present technical content credibly to practicing engineers and decision-makers

  • Disciplined sales methodology — experience with CRM-based pipeline management, structured follow-up, and metric-driven forecasting

  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial operator comfortable in a lean, remote-first global team

  • Based in the US or Canada; regular travel to conferences and client sites required

Compensation

Competitive base retainer plus performance-based commission tied to revenue targets. Structure reflects independent contractor arrangement with direct upside for results delivered.
