DeepEX software can be used to estimate horizontal displacements and vertical settlements for any deep excavation project. This depends on the chosen method and how accurately soil properties are input. The software provides three different analysis methods, each designed to yield insightful results:
A. The Classical Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM):
The LEM analysis, though semiempirical, forms the basis for the design of deep excavation projects. However, it's important to use caution when estimating horizontal and vertical displacements, especially in models with multiple support rows, as independently analyzing each stage might introduce inaccuracies. Notably, the software includes corrections on the Clough method, aligning the method with the rigor presented by Storer.

B. Non-Linear Analysis Method with Elastoplastic Winkler Springs (NL):
The NL analysis directly calculates horizontal displacements from wall displacements. The software incorporates an extended NL analysis that considers potential movement at the wall base, providing more realistic displacements. This method benefits from a nuanced consideration of soil behavior properties and project staging, with each stage building upon the previous one to enhance overall analysis accuracy

C. Finite Element Analysis Method (FEM):
The FEM engine, available as an optional module, brings a higher level of sophistication to displacement and settlement analysis. FEM automatically calculates displacement and settlement contours for all finite elements in the model. Realistic results depend on defining accurate soil properties. FEM, by considering the interplay of various factors, offers a comprehensive understanding of deformations, making it a powerful tool for detailed and accurate analyses.
