DeepEX can design circular shafts, either cantilever, or supported by ring beams and cap beams.

A circular shaft model can be created with the DeepEX Model Wizard, as shown below:
A. Open DeepEX Wizard and select the analysis method. For circular shaft models, the software will by default select the Non-Linear analysis method with elastoplastic Winkler springs.

B. Select the project type and define the basic project properties (final excavation depth, wall length, circular shaft radius, tip of the wall elevation and water table).

C. Define the project soil properties and stratigraphy.

D. Define the wall section properties. Here you can select the wall type and define the structural section to be used in the particular model.

E. Define supports (cap beam, liner walls, ring beam supports). You can select whether to include the supports or not, as well as define the support dimensions.

F. Define the depth for each support level (for ring beams).

G. Define external surcharges. Here you can select the type, position and magnitude to be added in the generated model.

H. Define structural and geotechnical codes.

After the analysis you can review valuable results for each construction stage, including the hoop forces, the hoop buckling safety factor and more.
