Quay Walls: The ultimate software for gravity type quay walls
As a quay wall designer you have to examine a range of issues from earth pressures, seismic conditions, ship loads, wave pressures, and on. Quay Walls is the only software that covers all these aspects in a single package. With easy to use wizards you can quickly generate from simple gravity walls to 3D caisson walls with infill zones. Quay Walls brings together coastal, structural, and geotechnical engineering principles in one package to make your design life easier. What does this mean? Wave pressures can now be automatically calculated with a number of established methods. Build-in recommendations allow you to easily estimate initial wave heights and wave lengths. You can even estimate overtopping flow rates!
We are 100% confident that QuayWalls is the ultimate tool for quay wall design. If you are a coastal, ports, or an engineer dealing with QuayWalls this is the tool to have.
Create & Design a Model in Minutes
QuayWalls software has a superior interactive interface that allows direct access to all project items (wall sections, stratigraphy, supports and more). Any gravity retaining wall section can be graphically added and edited directly on the model area. The section properties can be edited through intuitive user friendly dialogs. Moreover, QuayWalls implements a powerful Model Wizard that can be used to generate any common quay wall type directly on the model area, so we can actually create any composite model in minutes.
The procedure to create and analyze any quay wall type within the program is summarized in the following steps:
1. Create the Quay Wall model with the use of the powerful Model Wizard in minutes with all construction stages.
2. Edit the Quay Wall structural section.
3. Edit the soil properties and stratigraphy.
4. Define the analysis assumptions, wave pressures and overtopping methods, and the seismic pressures method.
5. Review the results in graphs and tables on the model area for all construction stages and optimize the model.

Main QuayWalls Features & Capabilities
MULTIPLE QUAY WALL TYPES
QuayWalls software can design any gravity type section quay wall, calculating soil, water, wave and seismic pressures on the wall system. QuayWalls can be used for the design and analysis of:
- Cantilever walls
- Segmental Walls
- Box Caisson Walls with soil infill zones
- T Shaped Walls
- User Defined Walls

WAVE PRESSURES & OVERTOPPING
QuayWalls can calculate wave pressures with a number of established methods. The initial wave heights and wave lengths can be estimated with implemented recommendations, or manualy defined by the user through a user-friendly dialog. Finally, QuayWalls can automatically estimate overtopping flow rates since it can perform average overtopping volume calculations using PROVERBS equations.

QUAYWALLS MODEL WIZARD
QuayWalls implements a powerful Model Wizard that can create any quay wall model in minutes! The user can define all model dimensions, the wall sections, the soil properties and stratigraphy, the external and mooring loads and the design code load combinations through a series of intuitive dialogs. The wizard will create the model with all construction stages, saving a lot of time and effort for the creation of any detailed quay wall model.

LOAD COMBINATIONS & CODES
QuayWalls has implemented a series of international structural design codes and geotechnical design load combinations for the full design and analysis of gravity type quay wall systems. The user can select to apply a code to any examined design section within the software, and QuayWalls will use the load factors and perform all structural checks according to the selected design codes.
Load Combination Codes:
- Eurocode 7
- BS 6349-1/2
Structural Codes:
- AISC
- ACI
- EC2
- EC3

SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSIS
Evaluate the global stability of excavation models and slope surfaces (simple or reinforced with soil nails). QuayWalls can calculate and report the most critical slope surface and the slope stability safety factor with the use of several scientific methods (Bishop, Morgenstern-Price, Spencer) with the additional, optional slope stability analysis module.

FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS
- Finite Element Analysis Module:
With the FEM module activated, our Finite Element Analysis engine can be added and activated in any software version, allowing the Finite Element Analysis method to be performed. The FEM method considers full soil structure interaction and can be used to analyze complicated models, adjacent foundation piles, tunnels and more.

PILE SUPPORTED ABUTMENTS
This module allows the use of foundation piles at gravity wall sections (creating pile supported abutments). The module allows the calculation of the forces on each pile and the lateral and vertical design of the piles (calculation of pile moments, shear and displacements diagrams, as well as, the calculation of the bearing capacity of the piles).

SOIL PROPERTIES ESTIMATION
- Soil Estimation & Statistical Analysis Module:
This addon allows us to perform a statistical analysis of estimated soil parameters from SPT and CPT data with a series of different methods. The statistical analysis allows us to estimate soil property variability with depth or in the project plan. Then, one can select the desired design values based on the desired confidence level.
