Deep Excavation Design Methods for Los Angeles Subways

Deep Excavation design for the Los Angeles Metro subway stations requires careful consideration of many items. In terms of design, the LA Metro authority developed a set of criteria that were included in the bid documents. Part of these criteria dealt with designing the deep excavation systems such as the soldier piles and struts with limit-equilibrium approach methods. Our DeepEX software was used to design the deep excavations for many subway stations of the Regional Connector project and the Westside expansion subway stations (By PB&A Inc). As a follow up to our previous fully booked webinar in Sep 2018, this webinar will focus on how we can apply the unique requirements of LA Metro to design a deep excavation in DeepEX.
